Enugu Air Launches First International Flight to Douala

On September 23, 2026, Enugu Air's 76-seater Embraer E170 departed from Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu at 12:45 p.m. and landed at Douala International Airport in Cameroun about an hour later. This flight marked Enugu Air's first international operation, symbolizing a significant advancement in the aviation and economic landscape of Enugu, as emphasized by Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's development philosophy of "connecting the dots." Mbah, who was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, had previously outlined ambitious goals for the state, including the establishment of a state-owned airline.

The airline received its Air Operator Certificate from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority in March 2026 after a regulatory certification process lasting approximately five months.
