ADC Critiques Enugu LG Election as APC Selection Process

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State condemned the local government election held on Saturday, describing it as an "APC vs APC" selection process that lacked genuine competition. In a statement signed by Paul Anigbogu, the ADC criticized the movement restrictions imposed during the election, stating it disrupted economic activities and prevented residents from conducting lawful business.

The party alleged that public funds were wasted on an election where candidates had already been selected by the state government and the ruling APC. They claimed that other political parties were not given a fair chance to participate, labeling the event a "coronation" of pre-selected candidates.

The ADC's 2027 governorship candidate, Ocho Obodoeze, promised to ensure genuine competition and grassroots participation if elected. The party also pledged to prioritize infrastructure, timely payment of salaries, and the protection of residents' rights to conduct business, while accusing the APC-led government of exacerbating hardship in the state.
