Enugu State Climbs to 5th Position in Nigeria's Climate Governance Ranking

Enugu State has significantly improved its climate governance ranking, rising to the 5th position in Nigeria in 2025. Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's administration has demonstrated clear progress in addressing climate-related risks and implementing effective reforms.

The state's efforts, evaluated by Societi Planet Prosper (SPP) in partnership with the UK's Department of Climate Change (DCC) and FCDO, have led to tangible economic, social, and environmental benefits. Enugu's comprehensive climate policy and action plan, including energy audits and public infrastructure improvements, have contributed to its enhanced ranking and public engagement in climate action.
