Enugu State Bans Unauthorized Political Poster Displays

The Enugu State Structures for Signage and Advertisement Agency, led by General Manager Hon. Francis Aninwike, has issued a strong warning against the unauthorized display of posters throughout Enugu State. This prohibition includes all political materials featuring names, photographs, logos, slogans, and messages from political parties, candidates, and aspirants.

The ban is effective ahead of the local government elections scheduled for September 26, 2026, and the 2027 general elections. It is supported by the Enugu State Structures for Signage and Advertisement Agency Law No. 12 of 2016, specifically Sections 4(1)(g), 33, and 34(4)(9).

The agency prohibits any individual or political entity from pasting posters on public or private surfaces to prevent defacement and maintain environmental aesthetics. Printers producing unauthorized posters may face investigations and sanctions.

Violators of this ban will incur financial penalties, and the agency encourages the use of approved media platforms for campaign activities.
