Enyimba Triumphs 4-2 Over Shooting Stars for First Win
Enyimba recorded their first victory of the Nigeria Premier Football League season by defeating Shooting Stars 4-2 at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba. The match took place on Wednesday, with Enyimba taking an early lead through Richard Ezinna in the seventh minute.
They continued to dominate, with Damian Chibueze scoring in the 29th minute and Idris Abubakar adding a third goal in the 36th minute, leading 3-0 at halftime. Enyimba extended their lead to 4-0 shortly after the second half began, thanks to Ifeanyi Ihemekwele's goal in the 49th minute.
Although Shooting Stars responded with two late goals from Mustapha Adams Agba’a in the 76th minute and Johnmark Aule in the 91st minute, it was not enough to change the outcome. Enyimba's victory marks a significant boost for the team as they aim to build consistency in the ongoing season.
