In his post-match press conference, Alonso highlighted the complementary qualities and positioning of Caicedo and Henderson, stating they helped each other and provided presence and stability on the pitch.

He emphasized the importance of building a strong midfield for Chelsea's progress, mentioning that it was fundamental to strengthen that area. Alonso also referenced Romeo Lavia, Reece James, and Valentin Barco as additional midfield options, indicating that Lavia had played useful minutes and James had featured in midfield on occasions.
