Chelsea's Xabi Alonso leads team to 5-1 win over Bournemouth
Chelsea achieved a decisive 5-1 victory against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge, signaling a potential turnaround for the club under new manager Xabi Alonso. This win was crucial as Chelsea had previously faced a disappointing season, finishing 10th and missing out on European football.
The performance came after a concerning run of results, including a 3-0 defeat to Brentford that highlighted defensive weaknesses. Chelsea's attacking display against Bournemouth was impressive, with Jordan Henderson scoring twice, and Morgan Rogers and João Pedro each contributing goals.
The team scored twice within the first three minutes, marking their earliest two-goal lead in Premier League history. Despite the positive outcome, questions remain about Chelsea's ability to maintain consistency throughout the season after a series of mixed results.
