Brighton Signs Nigerian Forward Zadok Yohanna on Five-Year Deal

Brighton & Hove Albion has officially announced the signing of Nigerian forward Zadok Yohanna from Swedish side AIK Stockholm on a five-year contract, which will keep him at the club until June 2031. The transfer was confirmed in a statement released on Saturday.

The 18-year-old winger has made a rapid ascent in European football, having joined AIK Stockholm from Ikon Allah Academy in Kaduna in 2025. He quickly impressed, earning a promotion to the senior team within just two months.

Several top Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester City, and Newcastle United, showed interest in securing his signature, but Brighton won the race for the teenager. Yohanna expressed his delight at joining the Premier League side, reflecting on his journey to the English top flight and his desire to make his family proud.

He is considered one of Nigeria's brightest young prospects and has reportedly attracted the attention of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chell. Yohanna is expected to continue his development within Brighton's renowned youth-focused system.
