Manchester United Muslim Supporters Club Demands Ownership Change

The Manchester United Muslim Supporters Club (MUMSC) has publicly demanded a change in the ownership structure of Manchester United Football Club, expressing a loss of confidence in the current leadership following comments made by co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe during a BBC interview. Ratcliffe, founder of Ineos, discussed issues of immigration, taxes, and welfare, stating that Britain was “on the slide” due to high taxes and immigration.

MUMSC found his remarks “deeply disappointing and completely unacceptable,” recalling previous comments made by Ratcliffe in February, where he described Britain as having been “colonised by immigrants.” The supporters' group had hoped that Ratcliffe's arrival would bring meaningful change after years of decline under the Glazer family's ownership. MUMSC concluded that it is time for change, stating, “The Glazers and Sir Jim Ratcliffe must go.” The group also criticized the ownership for higher ticket prices, the condition of Old Trafford, and the team's performances.
