EU Grants €557m to Nigeria and African Countries from 2026 Aid Budget

The European Union has granted €557 million to Nigeria and other African countries from its €1.9 billion 2026 humanitarian aid budget. The aid aims to assist vulnerable populations in West Central Africa, Sahel, Lake Chad Basin, North West Nigeria, and other regions.

The EU emphasizes the importance of delivering life-saving assistance, especially in crisis zones. The allocation also includes funds for regions like the Middle East, Gaza, Ukraine, Russia, and Afghanistan to address humanitarian needs.
