Ex-Abia Governor Orji Resigns From PDP, Cites Wide Consultations

Former Abia State Governor Orji has officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in a letter addressed to the PDP Ward 1 Chairman in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State. Orji, who has been a prominent figure in Abia State politics since 1999, mentioned that his decision to resign followed wide consultations with his family and associates.

He had a political journey that saw him serve as the Chief of Staff under Orji Uzor Kalu and later becoming the Governor of Abia State. Orji has moved between different political platforms, including the Progress Alliance and APGA, before rejoining the PDP for his senatorial terms in 2011 and 2015.
