Malami Named ADC Governorship Candidate for Kebbi 2027

Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General of the Federation, has emerged as the governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State for the upcoming 2027 general elections. His candidacy was confirmed through a consensus by the party, as announced by his special assistant on media, Moham Bello Doka, in a statement issued on Sunday.

Malami expressed gratitude for the support he received from party leaders and stakeholders, emphasizing his commitment to leadership, good governance, justice, security, and sustainable development in Kebbi State. He is expected to face off against the current governor, Nasir Idris of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in what is anticipated to be a competitive election.

Malami has criticized the current administration for insecurity and economic conditions in the state, accusing it of misgovernance during its time in office. Alongside Malami, the ADC has also named retired Major General Aminu Band as its senatorial candidate for Kebbi Central, with Ibrahim Muhammad Mera and Garba Danjuma Limi representing Kebbi North and Kebbi South, respectively.
