Ex-Buhari’s Minister Criticizes Tinubu's Government, Plans Presidential Bid in 2027

Former Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, launched a scathing criticism of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing it of operating like a cartel during an interview on Arise TV. Nwajiuba specifically criticized key policy decisions of Tinubu's administration, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and subsequent government spending priorities.

He described the current leadership style of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as reflecting cartel behavior marked by incompetence in consolidating political power and controlling national resources. Nwajiuba announced his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to address the dissatisfaction with the current state of governance.

He emphasized the need to balance experience, education, and youth energy in governance, dismissing the idea of entrenching political heavyweights in the party. Nwajiuba acknowledged the presence of prominent political figures like Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi, and Nasir El Rufai in the political landscape.
