Tunde Lemo Endorses Solomon Adeola for Ogun Governorship

Tunde Lemo, the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, announced his withdrawal from the Ogun State governorship race, endorsing Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as the consensus candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. Lemo made this announcement in a statement released on Wednesday in Abeokuta, following extensive consultations with party leaders and stakeholders across the state.

He described his decision as a calculated realignment for the broader interest of the party and emphasized the need for unity within the APC to strengthen its electoral prospects. Lemo expressed confidence in the APC leadership's judgment and noted that party elders believe Adeola has the capacity to consolidate the gains of the current administration under Governor Dapo Abiodun.

He called on fellow party members to rally behind Adeola's campaign and mobilize support across Ogun State's 20 local government areas. Lemo thanked the APC national and state leadership, traditional rulers, and the people of Ogun State for their continued confidence and urged stakeholders to focus on the bigger prize ahead.
