Morata Names Osimhen Among World's Top Strikers

Alvaro Morata, a former Chelsea and Spain forward, has ranked Victor Osimhen among the top three strikers in world football, citing their collaboration at Galatasaray. Morata joined Galatasaray in January 2025, where he played alongside Osimhen, who had moved from Napoli on loan in the summer of 2024 before a permanent transfer for €75 million in 2025, a record fee in Turkish football.

Osimhen has made 78 appearances for Galatasaray, scoring 65 goals and contributing to two league titles and one Turkish Cup. He has continued his impressive form into the current season with six goals in four matches.

However, Osimhen sustained an injury during a match against Istanbul Basaksehir, which forced him off the pitch in the 33rd minute. He is expected to miss several upcoming matches while recovering, raising concerns as Nigeria's 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign begins later this month.
