Gambo Celebrated with Polo Match for 60th Birthday

A special commemorative polo exhibition match was held to celebrate Vice Admiral AZ Gambo's 60th birthday at the Nigerian Army Polo Resort Guard Polo Club. The event featured two categories: in the medium goal category, Alhusna defeated Kangal 2-0, while in the high goal category, AMTRIGG triumphed over AZ Polo Team with a score of 6-3.

Major General Lucky Irabor, the former Chief of Defence Staff, attended as a special guest and praised Gambo's contributions to national security and polo development in Nigeria. Major General G Laka, Chairman of the Nigerian Army Polo Association (NAPA), emphasized the event's reflection of camaraderie among military officers and polo enthusiasts.

Other attendees included Brigadier General Mustapha Onoyiveta, Nasiru Danu, Bashir Maidugu, Ali M. Ali, and Jibrin Baba Ndace, all expressing their admiration for Gambo's dedication to the sport and his legacy.

Gambo expressed gratitude for the celebration and highlighted his commitment to promoting polo during his tenure as Chief of Naval Staff.
