Gbenga Abiola Declares Candidacy for Lagos Assembly Seat

Gbenga Abiola, the former local government chairman of Agege, declared his intention to contest for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat representing the Agege constituency in the upcoming 2027 elections. His announcement was made on Sunday in Dopemu, where he praised the Speaker of the Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, referring to him as a mentor and benefactor.

Abiola, who previously served as the vice chairman and sole administrator of Agege Local Government, emphasized his loyalty to Obasa and acknowledged his decision not to seek re-election. He expressed confidence in his ability to continue the development strides in the constituency and highlighted his extensive grassroots governance experience.

Abiola also urged for peaceful political engagement and warned against violence during the party primaries. He reaffirmed his loyalty to the Progress Congress and called for unity among party members as they approach the 2027 elections.

Additionally, he commended Bola Tinubu for ongoing reforms and expressed optimism for the country's future.
