Gbenga Makanuola Seeks Kwara South Senate Nomination

Gbenga Makanuola, a former member of the House of Representatives and a chieftain of the Progress Congress, has officially picked up the nomination form to contest for the Kwara South senatorial seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections. He made his intentions known during a visit to the APC state secretariat in Ilorin on Friday, where he met with members of the state working committee led by party chairman Sundai Fagbemi.

Makanuola submitted a letter of intent, expressing his desire to represent Kwara South in the next legislative assembly. He emphasized that his decision to re-enter the race is driven by a commitment to serve and a strong grassroots support base rather than financial inducements.

He highlighted his 16 years of experience within the national assembly, including his time as deputy chief of staff to the president. Makanuola assured party leaders of his capability to uphold the principles of leadership and represent the interests of the people.

Fagbemi described him as a modest and honest candidate.
