Ex-Masari Aide Defects to ADC in Katsina, Vows to 'Rescue' State from APC Dominance

A former aide to ex-governor Aminu Bello Masari, Saulawa, has defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Katsina, expressing a desire to "rescue" the state from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Saulawa cited concerns over loyalty within the APC and alleged threats ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His defection adds to a list of prominent defectors in Katsina, including Mustapha Inuwa and senators Ibrahim Tsauri and Baban Kaita. Saulawa aims to focus on building the ADC in the state and addressing governance issues.
