Saleh Mamman Forfeits Properties After Corruption Conviction

Saleh Mamman, the former Minister of Power, has been ordered to forfeit five properties to the Nigerian government by Justice Jame Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, on July 2, 2026. This ruling follows Mamman's conviction for corrupt practices, which resulted in a 75-year prison sentence for money laundering involving N33.8 billion.

The properties forfeited include Walijam Apartments located at No. 43 Plot 435 Lobito Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja; a luxurious suite at No. 5 Amana Crescent, New Estate, Unguwan Rimi, Kaduna State; and two properties at No. 11 and No. 13 Misratah Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, along with U Plaza at Plot 734 Kade Street, Wuse 2, Abuja. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) successfully established that Mamman acquired these properties through unlawful activities.

Justice Omotosho also mandated the EFCC to publish the interim forfeiture order in national newspapers within seven days, allowing interested parties to appear in court to contest the final forfeiture.
