Ex-Oyo Governorship Candidate Olalekan Ayorind Joins APC

Olalekan Ayorind, who was a governorship candidate in the 2019 elections representing the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). His reception took place on Wednesday at the APC secretariat in Ado, Ibadan, where he was welcomed by the state chairman, Mose Alak, along with party leaders and local government officials.

Ayorind emphasized that his decision to join the APC was not motivated by personal ambition to contest for political office but rather a commitment to support the party and contribute meaningfully to the development of Ibadan and Oyo State as a whole. He expressed his dedication to serving the people and advancing the state.

The APC chairman for Ibadan North East, Elewur, praised Ayorind's membership, describing him as a valuable asset whose experience and grassroots connections would strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. Ayorind had previously aligned with the APC at the ward and local government levels, completing the formal process at the state level.
