• Naijanews • Politics
Aminu Goro, a former member of the House of Representatives representing the Fagge Federal Constituency in Kano State, announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on April 11. In his resignation letter addressed to the APC ward chairperson of Rigiyar Lemu, Goro expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the APC during his tenure. He indicated that his decision to resign and join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was made after careful consultation and reflection on the evolving political landscape. Goro was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2011 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but later defected to the APC. He lost his seat in the 2023 general elections to Muhammad Bello of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). Recent political developments in Kano include the defection of Governor Abba Yusuf from the NNPP to the APC, which Goro noted as part of the reshaping political influence within the ruling party in the state. He urged supporters to remain calm and consult regarding his next political move.
