Expect three days of heavy rains, thunderstorms, flooding in Nigeria – NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a warning of three days of heavy rains, thunderstorms, and possible flooding across various parts of Nigeria from Monday to Wednesday. The agency advised residents in the central and southern regions to prepare for severe weather conditions, while the northern region is expected to experience morning thunderstorms followed by moderate rain later in the day.

NiMet also raised an alarm about a high flood risk in several states during this forecast period. Light rain is expected in parts of Niger State, with a high possibility of flooding in Plateau, Nasarawa, and Niger States.

The southern region is forecasted to have cloudy skies, intermittent light rain, and moderate rain in some areas. The agency predicted thunderstorms and rain across the country during this period.
