Experts Decry Abusive Use of Digital Technology

Experts at the 4th Nigeria Conference on Adolescent and Youth Health Development in Port Harcourt raised concerns about the abusive use of digital technology among young people. Keynote speaker Amina Ahmed, the Commissioner of Health in Kwara State, highlighted the theme of the conference, emphasizing the need to build resilient young people in a changing digital world.

The conference aimed to address issues such as digital addiction, cyberbullying, and misinformation, stressing the importance of digital literacy and responsible technology use. President of SAYPHIN, Professor Adesegun Fatusi, emphasized the potential benefits and challenges of digital technology for youth development.

The event brought together stakeholders to discuss practical solutions and partnerships to tackle the negative impacts of excessive digital technology use among young people. Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee, Omosivie Maduka, emphasized the collective effort needed to address these challenges and empower young people with the necessary skills for a better future.
