Car Crash into Gas Store Causes Major Explosion in Abuja

An explosion took place in Abuja when a car collided with a gas store at approximately 6:15 am. Witnesses reported that the explosion was powerful enough to shake buildings as far as two kilometers away, particularly affecting residents of Dantata Estate in Kubwa.

A local resident described the loud explosion as startling, waking people from their sleep and causing vibrations in their homes. The incident also led to the destruction of shelter stands and signposts at nearby Liberty Junction, with several shops impacted by the resulting fire.

The vehicle involved in the crash was completely destroyed. Emergency responders, including security operatives and firefighters, arrived at the scene to manage the situation and restore normalcy.

The driver of the car and a child were rescued and transported to the hospital for medical treatment. A large crowd gathered at the site, obstructing traffic flow.
