Ezima Appointed Director of Nigeria's Cybercrime Centre

Akaninyen Ezima has assumed the role of director of the Nigeria Police Force's National Cybercrime Centre (NPF NCCC), a position that comes at a critical time as Nigeria faces increasing challenges related to cybercrime and digital security threats. Ezima, who joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, has built a reputation for operational efficiency and has held several key positions, including Deputy Commissioner of Police at Zone 17 and leadership roles within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in various locations such as Ibadan, Lagos, Benin, and Kano.

His latest appointment is viewed as a strategic move to leverage his extensive investigative background and leadership experience to enhance Nigeria's capabilities in combating cybercrime. Ezima will work under the guidance of Inspector General of Police Ifeanyi Henry and is expected to spearhead efforts to strengthen the digital security framework and improve the police force's capacity to tackle emerging online threats across the country.
