Sheikh Gumi Denies US Targeting Claims in Nigeria, Cites Boko Haram Threat

Controversial Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has refuted claims that the United States targeted him in Nigeria. He clarified that his previous statements about threats to his life were related to Boko Haram insurgents and not recent military actions.

Sheikh Gumi emphasized that there is no current danger to his safety despite misinformation circulating on social media. The cleric highlighted an earlier assassination attempt by Boko Haram in 2012 and urged media organizations to retract false reports.

Gumi stressed that the fake news about being targeted by the US on Nigerian soil is baseless.
