Super Falcons Face Cameroon for WAFCON Semifinal Spot

The Super Falcons of Nigeria are set to compete against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in a crucial quarter-final match of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca at 6pm Nigeria time. This match is significant as the winner will advance to the semi-finals and earn an automatic ticket to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Nigeria, the defending champions and 10-time WAFCON champions, faced challenges in the group stage, starting with a 3-2 loss to debutants Malawi. They rebounded with a 1-0 victory over Zambia, where Asisat Oshoala scored the decisive goal despite Nigeria playing with 10 players after Oluwatosin Demehin was sent off.

The Falcons concluded the group stage with an impressive 6-2 win against Egypt, finishing second in Group C.
