FBI Lists Nigerian Olumide Adediran as Most Wanted

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has named Olumide Adebiyi Adediran, a Nigerian man born on October 11, 1968, to its Most Wanted list for white collar crimes. Adediran faces federal charges including Bank Fraud, Identification Document Fraud, and Credit Card Fraud, with alleged offenses beginning in August 2001 in Champaign, Illinois.

He reportedly attempted to withdraw funds from a fraudulent cheque he deposited at a bank in Champaign. Additionally, he is accused of using stolen personal information to open bank and charge accounts.

Adediran fled the jurisdiction at the end of December 2001, just days before his trial was set to begin. A federal arrest warrant was issued on January 2, 2002, by the District Court, Central District of Illinois, for a Violation of Conditions of Release.

The FBI has indicated that Adediran has ties to south Florida and has used over a dozen aliases. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
