First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and travel booking platform 247 Travels have introduced a new credit facility enabling Nigerians to finance international flight bookings. The initiative, branded 'Book Now, Fly Later,' allows qualified applicants to access loans of up to N10 million to cover the cost of airline tickets, with repayment terms spanning between three and nine months.
The scheme targets individuals planning travel for business, education, healthcare, family visits, and tourism. According to statements from both organisations, salaried and self-employed customers who meet FCMB's standard lending criteria are eligible to apply.
The bank has committed to processing successful applications within 24 working hours, with approved funds disbursed promptly thereafter. The programme operates exclusively through 247 Travels for international ticket purchases and is managed under FCMB Premium Banking.
The partnership combines FCMB's lending infrastructure with 247 Travels' ticketing expertise to provide customers with flexible instalment-based payment options that reduce upfront travel costs. FCMB and 247 Travels presented the facility as a response to the financial burden many Nigerians face when booking international flights.
By spreading payments across multiple months, the scheme aims to make overseas travel more accessible to working professionals and entrepreneurs who previously found lump-sum ticket purchases financially constraining.
