FCSC Launches 2026 Directorate-Level Promotion Exercise

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) announced the commencement of the 2026 Directorate-Level Promotion Exercise, targeting eligible officers on salary grade levels 14, 15, and 16 across the Federal Civil Service. This announcement was made pursuant to Circular No. 6243, dated June 22, 2026, and signed by the Chairman of FCSC, Prof.

Tunji Ola. The commission requires that ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) submit promotion briefs for qualified officers who have met the prescribed maturity period at their current grade level and satisfy relevant conditions for promotion.

The evaluation process will focus on candidates' knowledge of civil service profession, government policies, and administrative procedures. The promotion examination will be conducted using a computer-based test (CBT), and candidates are advised to prepare adequately for this new format.

The commission warned that incomplete, false, or late submissions will lead to disqualification. Ibraheem Zakariyya, Head of Press and Public Relations at FCSC, emphasized the importance of compliance with the guidelines and deadlines.
