FCSC Launches 2026 Directorate-Level Promotion Exercise

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) announced the commencement of the 2026 directorate-level promotion exercise for eligible civil servants on salary grade levels 14, 15, and 16. Ibraheem Zakariyya, the head of press and public relations at FCSC, disclosed this information in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.

The circular regarding the promotion exercise was signed by the chairman of the FCSC, Prof. Tunji Olaopa.

Ministries, extra-ministerial departments, and agencies (MDAs) are required to submit promotion briefs for qualified officers who have met the prescribed maturity period and relevant conditions for promotion in line with existing rules and regulations. The promotion examination will be conducted through a computer-based test (CBT), and candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with the new examination format.

The FCSC emphasized that any incomplete, false, inaccurate, or late submissions could lead to disqualification. The evaluation will focus on candidates' knowledge of civil service professions and relevant government policies.
