FCT High Court Dismisses FHT Mega Express Suit Against Parallex Bank

On April 20, 2026, the Federal Capital Territory High Court dismissed the entire suit filed by FHT Mega Express against Parallex Bank, which claimed N7 billion. The court upheld Parallex Bank's preliminary objection, stating that the suit constituted a gross abuse of court process.

FHT Mega Express had previously obtained an ex parte order freezing Parallex Bank's funds, which the bank challenged. The court noted that FHT Mega Express had engaged in multiple lawsuits across different jurisdictions, which was deemed as forum shopping.

The court emphasized that FHT Mega Express's actions demonstrated bad faith and were an abuse of judicial process. As a result, the court dismissed the suit entirely and awarded costs of N500,000 against FHT Mega Express in favor of Parallex Bank.
