ADC Candidate Claims Election Victory Before Irregularities

Dr. Mose Paul Ogigi, a candidate from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Abuja Municipal Area Council election, stated in an interview that he had secured victory by 3 PM on election day. However, he reported that the situation took a drastic turn, alleging that a curfew was imposed and results were tampered with by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Dr. Ogigi described the electoral experience as painful and indicative of deep-rooted issues within Nigeria's democratic process. He accused authorities of allowing widespread vote buying and intimidating ADC supporters at various polling units.

He expressed disappointment over the declaration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the chairmanship contest, raising serious concerns about the transparency and credibility of the electoral process. Dr. Ogigi emphasized that the ADC would carefully study the results before deciding on the next course of action, highlighting the need for public trust in the electoral system.
