Nigeria Government Updates School Curriculum for Deeper Learning

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a comprehensive review of the country's school curriculum for basic, senior secondary, and technical education. The implementation of the updated curriculum is set to begin in September.

The review aims to streamline subjects, improve content, and allow for deeper learning by reducing overload and creating more learning time. The announcement was made by Boriowo Folasade, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, on behalf of the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa.

The review process involved collaboration with key education bodies like the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
