Federal Government Engages Imo State HoPE CT Beneficiaries

Doro, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Poverty Alleviation, and Social Development, reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to strengthening social protection during an engagement with beneficiaries of the Hope Cash Transfer (HoPE CT) program in Imo State. The event took place at the Ahiajoku Convention Centre in Owerri, where stakeholders gathered to assess the program's impact on household prosperity.

Dr. Doro emphasized the importance of direct engagement with beneficiaries to inform policy decisions and improve program implementation.

He noted that Imo State has recorded significant participation, with 278,727 households benefiting from cash transfers totaling 6.6 billion Naira. The minister encouraged beneficiaries to report any misconduct and assured them that the program aims to create sustainable pathways out of poverty.

Chief Kenneth Okafor, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development in Imo State, also expressed appreciation for the government's interventions.
