Fernandez, a 24-year-old central defender, has been named Rangers' Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season during the club's award gala held on a Sunday night. This accolade follows a fan vote and marks a significant achievement in his debut season with the Glasgow-based club.

Throughout the season, Fernandez has been a bright spark for Rangers, contributing five goals in 23 league matches and helping the team secure 12 clean sheets. He is the third Rangers player to win a major club award for three consecutive seasons.

Additionally, Fernandez made his debut for Nigeria during a four-nation invitational friendly tournament in Turkey, where he made two appearances and scored one goal.
