Festac Children’s Funfair Sees Record Attendance in 2022

On Saturday, December 23, 2022, the Festac Children’s Funfair took place in Festac Town, drawing a significantly larger crowd than in previous years. Organisers estimated attendance exceeded that of earlier editions, creating a festive atmosphere filled with amusement rides, games, music, dance, and food.

The event aims to provide children and their families with a memorable start to the Christmas holidays. Linda Ochugbua, the event's convener, expressed that the increasing turnout reflects the funfair's success in fulfilling its mission to bring joy to every child in the community, regardless of background.

Mr. Ladipo, representing Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN), reaffirmed the company's commitment to ensuring children enjoy the festive season. Other sponsors, including Uche Okpara, a children's advocate, and representatives from Soyummy Popcorn and Beloxxi, also emphasized their dedication to supporting the event, which remains free and accessible to families in Festac Town due to the backing of sponsors, volunteers, and the community.
