FG Supports Maritime Academy's Global Certification

The Federal Government of Nigeria, represented by Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola, has reaffirmed its support for the Maritime Academy of Nigeria located in Oron, Akwa Ibom State. The academy has achieved global certification standards, receiving ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 21001:2025 certifications.

During the certification presentation ceremony, Oyetola described this achievement as a demonstration of the academy's commitment to quality assurance and sustainable practices. Deputy Director of the Ministry, John Ogwuch, emphasized that the certifications reflect adherence to internationally recognized best practices and a strong culture of continuous improvement.

Director General of the Standard Organization of Nigeria, Ifeanyi Okek, noted that the certifications indicate the academy's commitment to quality operations and customer satisfaction. The academy's rector, Kevin Okonna, stated that the institution is now aligned with international standards, which is essential for training personnel required for the maritime industry.
