FG Approves N90 Billion for Bwari and Karu Water Supply Projects in Abuja

The Federal Government has approved N90 billion for the construction of new water supply projects in Bwari and Karu, located in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Abuja. The aim is to expand access to clean and reliable water for residents.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike announced this during the commissioning of a rehabilitated N50 billion Phase 2 water treatment plant at Lower Usuma Dam in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council. The new water projects are set to kick off this week, with the Bwari scheme launching on Wednesday and the Karu project on Thursday.

Wike emphasized the importance of investing in essential services like water supply, stating that water is life. The FCT Administration is also making strides in the education sector, with several schools being completed or renovated.
