Tinubu Approves N45bn for FCT Water Projects

President Bola Tinubu has approved the immediate release of N45 billion, which is 50% of the contract sum, for the Bwari Township and Karu Water Supply project in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The project is being handled by CGC Nigeria Limited, with the hope that it will be completed by the President's third anniversary in office in May next year.

The Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, expressed confidence in the contractor's ability to deliver the project on time. The project aims to provide clean and potable water to FCT residents, reducing the need for boreholes and untreated water sources.

The project is part of a larger initiative to improve water supply infrastructure in satellite towns around the FCT, with plans to continue expanding water projects until 2027. Executive Secretary of FCDA, Richard Yunana Dauda, highlighted the strategic importance of the project in improving access to potable water for FCT residents.
