FG Charges Three Men with Terrorism in Oyo Abduction Case

The Federal Government of Nigeria filed a 10-count terrorism and kidnapping charge against three men—Abdulrazak Umar, Yunusa Musa, and Shamsu Adamu Sani—at the Federal High Court in Abuja on a Friday. The charges relate to the abduction of students and teachers from a school in Oriir Local Government Area, Oyo State, on May 15, 2026.

The defendants are accused of conspiring to kidnap and conceal information about the alleged mastermind of the attack. They are also linked to the terrorist organization Darul Salam and are said to have provided ideological training through a WhatsApp group named "Allah Foundation of Peace." The abduction involved armed men taking 46 victims, including 39 pupils and seven teachers, with reports of a teacher being killed during the incident.

The Nigerian Army later rescued 44 victims during an operation, and no ransom was reportedly paid despite demands from the kidnappers.
