FG's Commitment to Education Transparency Reaffirmed

Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, reaffirmed the federal government's commitment to transparency, accountability, and the safety of learners in Nigeria.

This statement followed commendation from the Senate Ad-hoc Committee on the Safe Schools Initiative during an interactive session aimed at reviewing the initiative's implementation, including the use of appropriated funds and international grants. Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the committee chairman, praised Dr.

Alausa for his consistent cooperation with the National Assembly and respect for parliamentary oversight. He also acknowledged the minister's ongoing reforms in the education sector as bold initiatives contributing to national development.

Dr. Alausa clarified that the funds under review were disbursed before his appointment and that the Safe Schools Financing Unit, responsible for these funds, was previously located in the Federal Ministry of Finance.
