Nigeria's Youth Confab 2026 Set for October Engagement

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the National Youth Confab 2026, scheduled for October. Comrade Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of Youth Development, revealed at a press conference in Abuja that the confab will include one youth delegate from each of Nigeria's 360 federal constituencies, six representatives from the diaspora, and other stakeholders.

Themed “Next Gen Nigeria: Crafting Solutions, Owning the Future,” the two-week event will start with nationwide virtual consultations before a physical conference in Abuja. The initiative targets young Nigerians aged 18 to 35, encouraging them to articulate their concerns and propose policy solutions.

Discussions will cover governance, economic transformation, education, technology, climate change, and social security. To ensure effective implementation of outcomes, a Multi-Stakeholder Youth Confab Taskforce and a youth-led monitoring framework will be established.

Dr. Maryam Ismaila Keshinro, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, and Otega Ogra, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital Media, supported the initiative.
