Nigerian Government Announces National Youth Confab for 2026

The Nigerian Government is organizing the National Youth Confab 2026 in October, with one youth delegate from each of Nigeria's 360 federal constituencies and six representatives from the diaspora. Comrade Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of Youth Development, announced this at a press conference in Abuja.

The confab will begin with a nationwide virtual consultation, followed by a physical conference in Abuja. Olawande emphasized the initiative's goal to produce tangible outcomes, supported by mechanisms like a Multi-Stakeholder Youth Confab Taskforce and a youth-led monitoring framework.

Dr. Maryam Ismaila Keshinro, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, highlighted the confab's importance in fostering youth involvement in national development. Otega Ogra, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital Media, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this initiative, encouraging young Nigerians to present innovative ideas for sustainable development.
