FG Drags Ex-AGF Malami and Son to Court Over ₦1bn Money Laundering Scandal

The Nigerian government has brought 16 counts of money laundering charges against former Attorney General Abubakar Malami and his son, Abubakar Abdulaziz Malami, involving transactions amounting to ₦1 billion. The charges allege illegal financial activities, including concealing funds in various corporate entities and acquiring luxury properties suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities.

Malami served as AGF from 2015 to 2023 under former President Muhammadu Buhari. The case is currently before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
