Nigerian Ex-AGF Malami and Son Arraigned on Terrorism Financing Charges

The Federal Government of Nigeria has arraigned the immediate past Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and his son, Abdulaziz Abubakar Malami, before the Federal High Court in Abuja. They were charged with five counts, including abetting terrorism financing and unlawfully possessing arms and ammunition.

The defendants pleaded not guilty and were remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) pending further proceedings. The charges against them include allegations of terrorism financing and illegal possession of firearms.

Abdulaziz Malami's wife, Hajia Asabe Bashir, was also arraigned on money laundering charges. The case has been adjourned for trial to commence on February 20.
