FG Charges Sowore with Cyberbullying Over Tinubu Posts

The Federal Government of Nigeria has filed cyberbullying charges against activist Omoyele Sowore for allegedly defaming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in social media posts. The suit, lodged at the Federal High Court in Abuja, also involves Meta Platforms, Elon Musk, and X (formerly Twitter).

Sowore is accused of spreading false and defamatory content about the President, violating the Cybercrimes Prohibition Prevention Act. Prosecutors argue that Sowore's remarks could incite public disorder.
