New Charges Filed Against Adeyemi at FCT High Court
On October 13, 2026, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, informed Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja that a new case had been filed against Adeyemi at the FCT High Court. Oyedepo requested that the existing criminal charge be struck out, which Justice Umar granted after the defense lawyer, Ibrahim Angulu, SAN, did not oppose the request.
Oyedepo explained that the Attorney-General of the Federation reviewed Adeyemi's case file and the charge from the Inspector-General of Police, discovering loopholes. He stated that the documents allegedly forged by Adeyemi were prosecutable by the High Court of the FCT, not the Federal High Court.
Consequently, a new charge was filed at the FCT High Court, and Adeyemi would be arraigned again. Justice Umar terminated the previous charge, which had been against Adeyemi and two other defendants whose locations were unknown, on charges of conspiracy and forgery.
