FG Approves High-Flyers University in Ekiti State

The Federal Government has issued a provisional license to High-Flyers University located in Ikere-Ekiti, enabling it to commence operations as a private university in Ekiti State. The license was presented by Prof.
Abdullahi Ribadu, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), to the institution's Proprietor, Dr. Busayo Ajayi, in Abuja on Friday.
The certificate, dated June 29, 2026, was co-signed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and the NUC Executive Secretary.
This approval followed the university's fulfillment of the NUC's requirements for establishing a conventional private university. High-Flyers University will begin academic activities with three faculties, comprising 11 departments and 15 undergraduate programs.
The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences will offer courses such as Nursing Science and Public Health, while the Faculty of Science and Computing will include programs in Computer Science and Cyber Security. The Faculty of Social and Management Sciences will offer Accounting and Business Administration.
Dr. Ajayi expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for fostering an environment conducive to the establishment of private universities and committed to delivering quality education and research.
